When Elizabeth left the hospital a couple of months ago, I went to her
house with several days worth of prepared dinners for her and Paddy. We
sat and had a chat and she said she was delighted I had brought the
food. She thought the gift of relieving them from the chore of getting
and preparing dinner for the next few evenings was simply perfect.
She said to me, "Gene, you know if there had been Three Wise Women
instead of Three Wise Men who arrived at the manger after the birth of
Christ, they wouldn't have brought gold, frankincense and myrrh, they
would have brought diapers, blankets and food."
